Interview with Hiran Lecamwasam of Your Story Disability Legal Support ahead of his team’s visit to Coober Pedy

The Disability Royal Commission is taking submissions until December 31 as it investigates the mistreatment of people with disability in all contexts and settings.

A team from Your Story Disability Legal Support will be visiting Coober Pedy this week, seeking to support community members to share their stories and ideas for change in safe and informed ways – something that can be particularly challenging in remote communities. The team can also connect people with free counselling, advocacy support and assistance with legal issues you may be dealing with, such as those involving the NDIS.

So, if you’re a Coober Pedy resident living with disability, or a family member, carer, advocate, or supporter, and you’d like to find out how to access free support and share your ideas with the Royal Commission safely, consider heading along to the Greek Club Tuesday the 13th of September from 10am.

If you’re not able to make the session, you can still get in touch with the team on 1800 77 1800, or by sending a message to [email protected]
